Hello everyone!
Dusting myself off from the holidays. Was yours good? Did you do something special for others? For you? I hope so.
I’ve been waiting and by now I’d say enough time has passed. So let’s do it. Let’s talk about STAR WARS!
Yes, I was there for the December 14th opening night, and yes, it did nerd hard. The evening started around 6pm. A small group of friends came over to my place. We rolled a blunt of Death Star, of course. Also a blunt of Dutch Treat and a blunt of Trainwreck, because balance. We rented Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a refresher. Liked it more this time. I’ll admit, it was fun as hell the first few times but that wore off and eventually I just felt jaded about all the overt nostalgia.
Movie wrapped up around 9pm. So, we gathered our things and walked down to the Bagdad Theater. If you haven’t been, I’d highly, highly recommend hitting up a showing there. There were around sixty or so folks ahead of us and we did have to wait about forty-five minutes, but that wasn’t no thing.
I won’t spoil any events but I will say I enjoyed Star Wars: The Last Jedi much more than its predecessor. It was dark, and it asked harder questions of its heroes than past films. Not to mention, many of the big reveals turned out to be non-events. I really dug it. Oh, and Porgs. There were shit loads of Porgs. And-I-could-not-get-enough. Can’t wait to see more in Episode 9.
Since then, I’ve gone back for a second viewing and I enjoyed it even more the second time around. Have you seen it? What were your thoughts?
Until next time…
